Going Places

Explore trendy, masculine textures with travel-inspired designs found in the new Going Places line. You will seriously want everything on page 39 of the Occasions Catalogue. It was the best seller last week in my clubs by a LONG shot!

Our daughter Samantha is partial to it as well because of this sentiment: “The love between us knows no distance.” She said goodbye to her fiance a few weeks ago…for the very last time. This is the last leg of their long distance relationship and she can’t be more thankful.

This first card was made by my friend Karina Chin. The Hello Honey circle on this black and gray card just pops. I also really love the metallic star sequins! (#138390)Going-Global-2This second one was made by my friend Lorna Raczynski. The World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#138289) on both these cards makes a beautiful background. Pair it with the 6 x 6 Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack (#140581), and you can make a years worth of masculine or travel-inspired cards.Going-Global-3Here’s one I made at a Stampin’ Up! event in November. Instead of using the folder to emboss, I brayered ink on the inside of my folder, closed it up and rubbed my hand across the whole thing and used it as a stamp. Try it using a folder you already have. It’s pretty cool! When you’re done, just run your folder under water and the ink washes right off.
Going-Global-1I am reminded today of the Dr. Seuss book, “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”

“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”
Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

My to-do list is quite long today, so I’m on my way to tackle the mountain!

Please make note that I have added 2 new classes to my calendar:

Guy Greetings

June is right around the corner which means papercrafters are on the look out for Guy Greetings. That is actually the name of this stamp set and it is chock full of greetings for all the men in your life. I can post this one because even though I truly believe I have THEE world’s greatest husband, I have another card ready for him…which I cannot post here…because he actually reads these posts:) This card was one of the swaps from Hawaii ( designed by Sharon Armstrong) and I just love it.

Guy-Greetings

Guy-Greetings2The card base is Basic Black with a mat cut from the Typeset Designer Series Paper. Which I am pleased to discover, is NOT retiring!! I use a ton of this paper!! The smaller mat is Crumb Cake and then the images are stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Everything is stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink…but the cool part is that if you look closely you will see the banner at the top and the body of the car are 3D. These images were stamped a second time onto a scrap piece of  Very Vanilla, cut out, and raised over top using dimensionals. And of course, coloring the car with a real red marker makes it pop even more. She finished it off with 3 neutral candy dots on the bottom. Don’t you just love it?

Guy Greetings is an awesome set to have in your collection. We have used it several times in my May classes.  This card was one of 4 that the ladies made at the Masculine Card Class on Monday. All the supplies needed to make this card can be found on my online store. Click here to place your order.
