I was in Quebec City this weekend at a Strategy Summit for Stampin’ Up! Canada. There were 11 leaders from across the country as well as Dale Hampshire the Canadian Manager and his assistant Carrie Marcelin.
We got together to talk about certain issues that Canadian demonstrators are facing…and possible solutions moving forward. It was so good to be together with these amazing ladies!
The first amazing lady is Carrie…she coordinated all our flights…most of us meeting up in the Toronto airport and catching the last flight to Quebec all together. She arrived a day early to make sure things were in place for our arrival. She met us at the Quebec City airport with a driver and minivan. Thank you Carrie!
Our hotel was located right in the heart of Old Quebec City…so beautiful!
We even had a welcome gift in our room…It’s the little things that make us happy:)
We had dinner together the first night and then all went to bed fairly early. Travel days are exhausting. Friday we had an all morning meeting and then took a walk to a restaurant for lunch. It’s not all work when we get together. We were privileged to do a little local sight-seeing as well. Thankfully it was a nice afternoon for a walk. I just LOVE old buildings…and colorful doorways.
In the evening, we took this glass elevator down to the lower city…more quaint shops and restaurants. It was a lovely evening.
The next day was full with more strategy meetings and working lunch but dinner was a fun surprise. We took our little mini bus to a Sugar Shack. It’s a great Quebec tradition during maple syrup time. We gathered in this wood lodge and ate traditional Quebecois food like Tourtiere (meat pie), pea soup, sugar pie, etc. The food was delicious and the whole time there was a live band playing loud, energetic french folk songs. The children would dance and the waitresses would play the spoons.
After dinner, everyone met outside to experience this great tradition…snow taffy. Yum. They poured hot maple syrup over snow, gave everyone a stick, and we all walked by and rolled our own yummy treat.
The highlight of these trips are always getting together with friends.
Back home now and after a day of rest, ready to get to work. Well, mostly. So glad it actually finally feels like spring:)
Tomorrow I’ll have the Retiring Stamp Set and Accessories List for you.
