Lift Me Up

One of my favorite stamp sets in the Occasions Catalogue is Lift Me Up. My club members got to play with this bundle in their January card club.

They learned how to make a Decorative Corner Card…
Lift-Me-Up-1It has 4 panels and is super easy to make…it looks harder than it is. The base cardstock piece is Smoky Slate, the first mat is Night of Navy , and then I cut mats from the Carried Away DSP (one of the FREE Sale-a-bration offerings).Lift-Me-Up-3I used the 4th panel as my greeting space… a place to write a personal message. If it’s around the back, you won’t see it when the card is displayed.
Lift-Me-Up-2Follow these simple steps to make this type of card:

Decorative Corner Card

Supplies:           One 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” piece of cardstock (for your card base)
One 1” x 5-1/2” piece of same color cardstock (for the seam)
Two 1” punched circles of same color cardstock
Four 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” pieces of coordinating cardstock (for panels)
Four 1-5/8” x 5” pieces of patterned paper (for panels)

Step 1:   Score the 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” piece of cardstock at 2-1/8”, 4-1/4”, and 6-3/8” to make 4 equal panels. Make mountain folds on each of the score lines so they are all folded up towards you.

Step 2:   Score the 1” x 5-1/2” down the middle at ½”.

Step 3:   Decorate the panels as desired.

Step 4:   Glue the 1” x 5-1/2” piece along the sides to form your cube. Make sure it is on the inside so you don’t see it.

Step 5:   For the front, take the two 1” circles, fold them in half, and glue them to the centre fold of the base…then glue the focal point to those circles.

Hosting and Holding

It’s been a busy week. I’ve gone from hosting a business conference in Toronto to holding our new grand baby in Kelowna. And now I get to sit and enjoy this precious baby boy for a bit.

First off, the Canadian Strategy Team hosted a Canadian Business Conference (CBC) for 80 leaders across Canada. It was an amazing few days of learning targeted business strategies and connecting with fellow Canadian leaders.
CBC - Kay-2I had the opportunity to present alongside a fellow Advisory Board friend from Newfoundland…Kay Smith. It brought back wonderful memories.
CBC - Kay-1Our final night was dinner at the top of the CN Tower. I am not a fan of heights, but when in Toronto, I guess you need to go up…WAY up! It was a foggy night, so we couldn’t see anything…maybe in my case, that was a good thing:) The food was delicious though!
CBC - CN TowerI was home for 2 sleeps…and I left for Kelowna. Our first grand baby was born on Wednesday…Huxley Gordon Furgason.  I simply cannot get enough of him!
Huxley Gordon 2I love that I can have a job that allows me to work from wherever, whenever. It really is a blessing to be here in Kelowna helping Amy and Landon adjust to their new life as parents:) A big thank you to all my club members who have adjusted their stamp nights to make this possible. And for all those who are placing online orders while I’m away.  Thank you.
