I received this card from the super talented Donna Wizniuk…
So-Hoppy-Together-1How cute is this?! I want to point out a couple of things on this card.

First of all look at the shadow. Do you know where that came from? It’s the mountain from the Waterfront stamp set (upside down). Brilliant.

Secondly, she used our Stampin’ Blends to color the frog and unicycle. These high-quality, dual-tip markers in Stampin’ Up! exclusive colors will open a whole new world of colorful creativity. Each color marker comes in a light and dark shade and blend together beautifully. You can purchase them in a color combo pack, or individually. You can search all the colors in my online store HERE.

Simple Stamping

You don’t have to be a creative designer to make a handmade card. Some of the most beautiful cards come from simple stamping.

Last night was my team meeting and the cards we made were beautiful and actually quite simple. We copied 2 ideas straight out of the newest Stampin’Up! publications.

We made the adorable treat packages found on pg. 8 of the Occasions Catalogue:Hey-Love-1The complete list of products used are right on the page so you don’t even have to go looking! They really DO make it easy. If you are looking for a cute packaging idea for Valentines Day, this would certainly fit the bill. And these images in the Hey Love stamp set are not just for kids! They’d be perfect for your fellow book club members or co-workers as well:)

View the Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration Brochure HERE.

The other idea we copied was from the Sale-a-bration brochure on p. 8:Butterfly-Gala-1The background is just strips of cardstock cut at 1/2″ x 4-1/4″ and adhered flat with SNAIL adhesive. Simple, right? I used a tiny, tiny amount of Tombo Multipurpose Glue to adhere the wooden butterfly element.

And it’s always nice to make the inside of the card look pretty too…
Butterfly-Gala-2Once again, all the supplies are listed right there. But this time, this project uses an item that you can get for free. When you buy the products to make the projects shown there, you’ll qualify for the free Sale-a-bration item used: Butterfly Elements.
Butterfly-ElementsThe greatest thing about the Butterfly Gala Bundle is that it includes an amazing punch that punches out both sizes of butterflies at once! And the details on these butterfly images are gorgeous. I’m not even a butterfly person and I love this bundle. Butterfly-Gala-Bundle-ImageThere are so many other options available if you like to keep things simple. Our kits for example are perfect if you like things all cut and ready for you. Contact me and I’d love to help you choose a crafting experience that is just right for you.

A Fresh Start

It’s a new year full of new beginnings. A fresh start. So I’m resuming blogging. Welcome back!

As we breathe in a new year, I want to encourage us all to not be so hard on ourselves. We set goals…we fail at said goals…and we get discouraged and give up. Maybe our goals should just be DO BETTER. KEEP AT IT. Let go and move on. So here we go…

“And now we welcome the New Year, full of things that have never been.” – Rainer Maria Rilke

I saw that quote on a calendar, and it made me smile. Back in December, I made these simple calendars with the gals in my stamp club. I always do a desktop calendar with them to start the year and one that can be easily duplicated for them to give away as gifts. This year I simply downloaded a template online and added some patterns to the top 1″ of each month. I love how they turned out.

Calendar-Jan2019-2You can really play around with different patterns and techniques…on a smaller scale. I used post-it notes to block off the top 1″ so they all had a consistent look.

At Stampin’ Up!, January marks the beginning of Sale-a-bration…our biggest promotion of the year. And it is also the beginning of the Occasions 2019 Catalogue. I’m not sure about you, but  I always get a little overwhelmed at the start of a new catalogue. I want it all!! Where do I start? Good news. This month I have a couple of sampler options for you.
