Tin Tile Image-1Oh my gosh!! Breathtaking!

I made a few samples today using the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used a sponge dauber and StazOn ink on each of our Foil Papers. They are super shiny so it was a little tricky to photograph…but still…stunning!

Tin Tile-3Do you want it yet? I’d say Stampin’ Up! nailed it. Here is a sample made by the talented Lorna Raczynski using Mint Macaron Cardstock and then Bright Copper Shimmer Paint daubed on top. The possibilities are endless.

Dry Emboss It!

Have you ever tried to dry emboss your Designer Series Paper? It adds another layer of texture to your projects.

Here is one done on the Peekaboo Peach patterned paper in the Painted Autumn DSP pack:
Painted-Harvest-6We used the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder…but instead of putting the raised side up, we used the indented side (de-bossing).

The next pairing is the Christmas Around the World DSP and the stunning Winter Wonder Embossing Folder:
Labels-to-Love-1Snow on snow…I love it!

And finally, a sample using the Quilted Christmas 6″ x 6″ DSP pack and the Quilt Top Embossing Folder:Christmas-Quilt-1Look how much it adds to the original striped pattern?

Ready to Roll

Ready to roll has a few meanings in our house this week:) We are back from a week of rest in the Rocky Mountains, and now it’s time to roll..to get a move on…to snap to it…to get’er done! Only 31 more days until the wedding and there’s no time for sitting around people! LOL!

But “ready to roll” also refers to a technique I’m going to share with you today. I’d like to introduce you to one of the fabulous tools Stampin’ Up! has: our brand new Sponge Brayers.

Sponge Brayers are one of those handy little gadgets that serious stampers love to have in their tool box. To use, simply roll it over your ink pad, then roll it over your background stamp or piece of cardstock. It lets you apply a thin, uniform layer of ink over broad areas – such as a background stamp or embossed cardstock. It is a very simple technique that even beginning crafters can enjoy.

Brayering makes embossed paper stand out! See the Irresistibly Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper on page 127 of the new annual catalogue to see what I mean!Technique-Roll-5You might think that your brayer doesn’t have enough ink on it, but usually there’s plenty. Try it out on a piece of scrap paper first to see if the brayer has the color saturation you want for your project. Technique-Roll 1Look how beautiful it looks on this Thank You Bag!Technique-Roll-2You can brayer over our Hearts and Stars Decorative Masks…
Technique-Roll-3And over plain cardstock to create an ombre effect of color…
Technique-Roll-4Wow! There are so many things you can use these brayers for!! Are you ready to roll?? If you don’t have one,  what are you waiting for? The Sponge Brayers are a great value – they include two handles and four sponges (1-3/4″ wide).

Sponge Brayers   #141714   $10.75
