Summer Wedding & Holiday Catalogue

So…we had a wedding. And an amazing one at that. You may have wondered what I’ve been up to and why I haven’t been blogging. Let me just say, an event of this magnitude takes a lot of planning and preparation!! But so worth every moment of it:)

Many of you have been asking for pictures, so I will be sharing those as they become available…but here is the happy couple!Sam-and-Richie-1We couldn’t have asked for better weather that day. Actually, it was super HOT! It was an outdoor ceremony, so we were very thankful it was at 11 AM and not 2 PM. And good call on serving ice cream following the ceremony:)

Of course we started way back in the winter months with the invitations:Wedding-Invitation-1 Samantha personally addressed each invitation with her beautiful hand-writing. She said it was relaxing for her:) Not everyone would find this relaxing! But I loved how she added that personal touch to each one. Wedding-Invitation-2We also started WAY early on the thank you gift to be placed at each place setting. Because their whole dating relationship (and now married life) will be centered around travel, we thought it would be fun to give luggage tags. They are hard plastic, so I stamped the globe on each one with Black StazOn ink using the globe from the Going Global stamp set. (Sorry, many of these items have since retired in the spring, but I just wanted to share what I did.) luggage-tagSamantha wrote a little thank you on the garden green tags. I love how they turned out!

And now…it’s time to start this about making Christmas cards!! Seriously?! Yep. The new Holiday Catalogue goes live today.Holiday Catalogue 2016Check it out HERE. Canadians were unable to take advantage of the Mailing Selector due to the threat of a postal strike, so I’m sorry you did not receive one in the mail. I have tons here at my house though. DIY Wedding Invitations

DIY Wedding Invitations…this is what I did this weekend. I even recruited a few helpers. The guys worked the paper cutters and were very happy that Kayla cut the ribbon:) For some reason, the guys HATE cutting ribbon…they tell me they charge extra for that job. LOL! Maybe it’s because they prefer working with tools. If I need mass paper cutting done or anything cut with the Big Shot, they’re more than willing to help out.

After all the cutting preparation comes stamping the pieces. Edgar agreed to stamp the hardwood background on all the front panels. It was a little challenging to get it straight, and he is a perfectionist, so he was concentrating pretty hard. He got into the groove and didn’t talk until he was done. Pretty funny.

Final stage…assembling them. I love it when brides see the invitation in print for the first time … it suddenly becomes real. They are indeed getting married…it’s official:)

With the completion of these DIY wedding invitations, we are officially invited to 5 weddings this summer. Last year, we had 5 as well! This is simply the season we are in. Last summer was a little busy to say the least, because one of those five was our daughter’s.

For 9 months straight, our house was wedding central! Every time her fiance came over, we put him to work. He got to be very good with a hot glue gun:) We probably made 160 fabric flowers that were pinned onto burlap panels to hang behind the head table. Thank goodness for the Big Shot and flower dies to crank out all those flowers!! We were actually able to cut 4 layers of wedding fabric at a time.

Banner dies also came in handy for all kinds of signs…
