Celebrate and Commemorate

Our world is obsessed with numbers and time – not just with how we schedule our lives, but also with how we celebrate and commemorate everything we do… birthdays, anniversaries…even days until our next vacation.

We use numbers to connect and do exciting things with others, and we look beyond the numbers to see that they represent what’s important to us. Celebrating anniversaries isn’t about the years – it’s about everlasting love. Giving someone a birthday card isn’t just saying that we recognize they are older – we’re saying how glad we are that they’re in our lives. When you know what the numbers represent, they become a really big deal.

Let me introduce you to the Number of Years stamp set from the 2016 cccasions catalogue.  It’s perfect for keeping memories and sharing celebrations of the moments that mean the most. (They have coordinating Large Numbers Framelits Dies as well, which means you don’t have to cut them out by hand.)

What are the milestones you are looking forward in the next few months? Use this stamp bundle to express appreciation and love for people in your life throughout the year.

As I mentioned a few days ago, I demonstrated this bundle at our team training event on the weekend so I have a couple of quick samples to show you.

For this first one, I embossed the 25 with black embossing powder and evenly punched holes in it. I was going for the marquee look (signs with the lights in them)…so I filled the holes with crystal effects. It took about 3 applications – drying in between – to achieve the height I wanted on the “lights”.  I love how it turned out. The background paper is from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack.
Number-of-Years-1This second sample  was cased from Cindy Schuster showing how cutting the numbers out of your card can create fun and playful backgrounds for kids cards. Back the card front with colorful Designer Series Paper and highlight your focal number with a solid piece of cardstock.
Number-of-Years-2The third one I want to show you was a card idea I received in our team swap this month. Brenda embossed the front mat with our new Confetti embossing folder and then used the empty space in the middle to create a focal point for the number 29. Of course, cutting anything out of glimmer paper is always a WOW, don’t you think?! Do you know anyone who is turning 29 again? or 39 again? LOL!
Number-of-Years-3My dad is celebrating a major milestone this month as well, so I’d better get busy on that one.

Love is in the Air

I cannot believe it is February already! Love is in the air. Men are starting to sweat as they try to think of that perfect date…and women are dreaming of romance and chocolate. Right?!

CRAFTY women are thinking one step further though about cute packaging for those treats for family members or co-workers. I’m here to tell you that the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits are always the perfect solution…anytime, anywhere, any occasion. And you’re in luck. They are part of the Weekly Deals this week!!

So I thought I’d give you a little inspiration. I created a few treat bags this morning using product from the Love Blossoms suite. Take a look.
Love-Blossoms-1The treat bags were cut out of the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack and then embellished using primarily the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit.
Love-Blossoms-2Love-Blossoms-3For this one, I flipped the gold foil heart over and sponged the reverse side with crumb cake ink to give it a softer look.
Love-Blossoms-4

I LOVE the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit. It includes pearl trim, satin ribbon, paper clips with pre-tied bows, sequins, wood veneer pieces, enamel glitter dots, and foil heart doilies.

I hope you are inspired now to purchase these this Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. You’ll be happy you did.

The other thing that makes this girl happy is COFFEE. I have a few friends who happen to share this love of mine…so I packaged up these cute mugs to thank them for helping out with our team birthday event on the weekend. How cute are these?
Gift-1I found these plastic tubes at a craft store in the states this past summer, and mini oreo cookies fit perfectly inside. To dress up the tea lights, I just wrapped washi tape around them. Love how easy washi tape is! Gift-2Happy Heart Month everyone!

Event Projects

There were 4 different event projects on Saturday. This first one was designed by Sherry Roth. She did a whole demonstration on a birthday class using products from the It’s My Party suite.
MT-1The inside was made using the new Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies. How fun is that?
MT-2Then they had their choice of a juvenille girl card…or boy card…using the Hello stamp set from the Sale-a-bration offerings. Remember, this one is only available for a couple more weeks, so get it while you can.MT-5

MT-6I’m loving the Balloon Celebration bundle. Check out these sparkly blushing bride glimmer balloons!
MT-3Finally, they got to play with the Rose Wonder Bundle a little bit. Donna Wizniuk provided this design. I love the watercolored background and the white embossed sentiment…sorry it’s a little difficult to see. Very pretty in person though.MT-4And it’s Tuesday, so you know what that means…
