It’s time for another technique…today it’s emboss resist. This is one of the first techniques I ever learned, and it’s a good one! It definitely is a WOW.
This card was also made with the Love & Affection stamp set.
The supplies you will need are as follows:
Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) $11.25
Embossing Buddy (#103083) $8.00
Versamark Pad (#102283) $11.25
White Embossing Powder (#109132) $6.75
Heat Tool (#129053) $40
*Classic Ink Pad colors of your choice (Bermuda Bay, Emerald Envy, Cucumber Crush used)
Love & Affection stamp set (#141545) $20.00
Thoughtful Banners (#141614) $26.00
Delicate White Doilies (#141701) $4.00
Silver Metallic Thread (#138402) $4.00
Step One
Gently swipe embossing buddy across your white piece of cardstock.
Step Two
Randomly stamp your images over top using the Versamark pad. Sprinkle the white embossing powder over the entire surface and tap off excess. The powder will stick to the versamark ink.
Step Three
Use the heat tool to melt the powder.
Step Four
Once its cooled off (only takes a couple of seconds), use a sponge and start sponging ink* all over. (Put the sponge directly into your pad.) When you sponge onto your white embossed piece of cardstock, start from off the paper and work in so you don’t get a big dark spot when you start. Continue until you’re happy with the results.
Step Five
Buff your embossed images with a dry swiffer sheet (or even kleenex works). The embossing resists the ink you sponged over top. Beautiful right? Go ahead and finish your card now. Everyone will ask, “How’d you do that?”
