Main Stage

I always look forward to walking through the doors of convention and seeing the Main Stage for the first time. What is the main stage going to look like? What music will they be playing? Who will I see in there?

This is what I saw this year! Beautiful backdrop to a newsroom…the Daily Share.
Main_StageDemonstrators in attendance were treated to the unveiling of the new Holiday Catalogue! Super fun! Trust me…you are going to absolutely love it. You will be able to order out of it beginning September 1st.

Our bag this year is a trendy gray felted shoulder bag. I LOVE it! I was not a fan of carrying it in 40 degree weather mind you, but I know I will love it here in the fall.
Convention_BagThere are always prize patrols…where they flash wristband colors up on the screen…and if yours matches that color, you excitedly stand up and wait for them to bring you your prize package. Three of us girls from Advisory Board all won the same color:) Prize_PatrolWe learned a lot…laughed a lot…even cried a little. It’s always a rewarding week. The leaders had a TED talk delivered by Jenna Glover on the last afternoon which was amazing. It was entitled: “Do you live an energy efficient life?” I was reminded that I need to keep “filling my tank”…in other words, taking care of my health.

Now we’re off to a Bridal Shower Event this evening. Samantha and I made a few of these this morning…featuring the the happy heart embossing folder , paper doilies, white jute ribbon and the sweetheart punch. (I saw this swap at Convention…sorry, I can’t remember whose it was.) But I love it!

Craft Classes

A favorite thing to do with our kids on vacation when they were small was to sign them up for Craft Classes. I would quite often bring stuff from home, but it was fun to sign them up for new things with other kids. Now we get to do it all over with my nephews. When I heard they were making tissue flowers I asked the oldest if I could come along. He thought that might be a good idea so off we went with Oma and his little brother.
Crafts_1Crafts_2And every time they go to the Recreation Center with Oma, they get a treat…they each get a quarter and then they have to decide which one they want.
Candy_1Candy_2Our daughter Amy is catching up on Liesel time this week. They were in Australia when she was born, so they first got to meet her at 7 months!
Liesel_1 (2)I had my own “craft class” in the afternoon…I brought along this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit to work on.

Creative Therapy

Once a month I receive a little orange box at my door. The contents are always a surprise! And this month I squealed when I opened it up…

My kit included:

  • Love You a Lot Photopolymer Stamp Set
  • Crushed Curry and Pacific Point Classic Stampin’ Spots (small ink pads)
  • 8 Card Bases (4 blue, 4 yellow)
  • 8 White cardstock pieces
  • 2 Sheets of die-cut bows
  • 8 Kraft pockets
  • Yellow and Blue Baker’s Twine (2 yds. of each)

These little pockets are adorable…and are the perfect size for adding a gift card! They will be used up in no time:) It’s so much fun to sit down and just make projects that are already planned and pre-cut for me.
