I have some samples to share with you today using  2 of the new Sale-a-bration products. First off, if you love glimmer paper, you will absolutely drool over this package. There are 12 sheets…6″ x 6″ in size … 4 each of these 3 colors…Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sugarplum. They are SO pretty!!
glimmer paperLook how beautiful they look on these cards. I’ve paired them with the new Reverse Words Sale-a-bration stamp set. This one is cut out using the oval Stitched Shapes Framelit…and the background features the new Hexagon Embossing Folder.  I also used the Vanilla Satin Ribbon and the Urban Underground Embellishments. I’m really going to miss this Mint Macaron color. It is one of the InColors that will be retiring in May. If you love it like I do, be sure to stock up on cardstock and a get a reinker for your ink pad!
Reverse-Words-2This one was inspired by Brian King and adapted by Sherry Roth. This is a great way to use up those little pieces of glimmer that you just can’t bring yourself to throw away!

Dragonfly Dreams

There is something soft and dreamy about dragonflies…they are so pretty. There is a new stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue called Dragonfly Dreams. The coordinating thinlits dies make it easy to cut them out as well, so there is no need to fussy cut.

Here are the 3 Dragonfly Dreams cards my club members made last week. This first one I designed for a swap in Toronto last month…
Dragonfly-Dreams-1There are lots of pretty elements on this card! The new lace doilies are white on one side and vanilla on the opposite side…love that. I used the white side here. There is a thin line of the gold metallic ribbon showing under the gold embossed greeting. (The ribbon comes in a two-pack with silver and is one of the free Sale-a-bration items:) The gold foil dragonfly rests on top of a white stitched shaped circle framelit…color washed with Smoky Slate ink and an Aqua Painter…and splattered by tapping a gold Wink of Stella pen. If you look closely, you will also see some gold thread peeking out behind the circle.

This second one was designed by my sweet friend Kay Smith. She did a couple of cool things on this card. She diecut the dragonfly out of the white mat so the black dragonfly could sit inside. To create the colored wings, she put a piece of white cardstock behind (cut slightly smaller), traced the wings and colored with the watercolor pencils, blender pens, and clear Wink of Stella Pen. The textured stamp on the top of the card is from the Touches of Texture stamp set in the main catalogue.Dragonfly-Dreams-4The final card was designed by Jo-Anne Rogers…and it’s a tri-fold card.
Dragonfly-Dreams-2The card still uses 1/2 a sheet of cardstock, but you score it at 2-1/8″ from each end. Isn’t it cute?

There is also something very dreamy about babies:) I am going through withdrawal after not being able to hold Huxley this week! Hard to believe he is 1 month old already.

Lift Me Up

One of my favorite stamp sets in the Occasions Catalogue is Lift Me Up. My club members got to play with this bundle in their January card club.

They learned how to make a Decorative Corner Card…
Lift-Me-Up-1It has 4 panels and is super easy to make…it looks harder than it is. The base cardstock piece is Smoky Slate, the first mat is Night of Navy , and then I cut mats from the Carried Away DSP (one of the FREE Sale-a-bration offerings).Lift-Me-Up-3I used the 4th panel as my greeting space… a place to write a personal message. If it’s around the back, you won’t see it when the card is displayed.
Lift-Me-Up-2Follow these simple steps to make this type of card:

Decorative Corner Card

Supplies:           One 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” piece of cardstock (for your card base)
One 1” x 5-1/2” piece of same color cardstock (for the seam)
Two 1” punched circles of same color cardstock
Four 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” pieces of coordinating cardstock (for panels)
Four 1-5/8” x 5” pieces of patterned paper (for panels)

Step 1:   Score the 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” piece of cardstock at 2-1/8”, 4-1/4”, and 6-3/8” to make 4 equal panels. Make mountain folds on each of the score lines so they are all folded up towards you.

Step 2:   Score the 1” x 5-1/2” down the middle at ½”.

Step 3:   Decorate the panels as desired.

Step 4:   Glue the 1” x 5-1/2” piece along the sides to form your cube. Make sure it is on the inside so you don’t see it.

Step 5:   For the front, take the two 1” circles, fold them in half, and glue them to the centre fold of the base…then glue the focal point to those circles.

You will find the Lift Me Up Bundle and all these supplies in my online store HERE.

Lift-Me-Up-BundleRemember that you get to choose a free item from the Sale-a-bration brochure when your order is over $60. If you order this Lift Me Up Bundle, you can receive the Carried Away DSP as your free item!
