Open House Highlights

It’s been awhile, so today I thought I’d share some Open House highlights. I had a wonderful afternoon of seeing many familiar faces and many new ones. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to stop by. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with you! Everyone who stopped by received one of these sweet hand sanitizers. (Shout out to Erica Cerwin for the holders!) Bath and Body Works has the pineapple and flamingo sanitizers that coordinate with our new Pop of Paradise stamp set. Love.Hand SanitizersWe love pineapple in this house, so I think this one is my favorite…Hand Sanitizers 1I drew a name each hour for door prizes (featuring some of our new products) that were tucked inside these beautiful packages. They were made using our Petite Cafe Gift Bag, Pop of Pink Specialty DSP,  and gold sequin trim that hung through a gold bow paper clip embellishment. The “Enjoy the Little Things” stamp is one of my favorites in the new catalogue and it comes from the set called Layering Love.Door-PrizesEveryone had the opportunity to make 2 cards that afternoon. I wanted to highlight the new In Colors and everyone loved them. (Thank you to my talented friends Becky Roberts and Julie Davison.) The new 2016-2018 In Colors are: Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum and Dapper Denim. Do you have a favorite? I really love them all, but if I had to pick a favorite I think it would be flirty flamingo:)

This one featured the Swirly Bird stamp set…Swirly-BirdThe second one featured the Love and Affection stamp set…Love-&-Affection

June is always a busy month for everybody, and our household is no exception. We’ve had the Open House, our daughter graduated from U of A, we are planning a wedding (including her bridal shower in 2 weeks), and we are tackling the to-do list for household painting/repairs and yard work we’d like completed before the wedding. It’s an exciting time!

I hope you will find the time to enjoy a few stolen moments of peace this week…whatever that looks like for you.

Working Away From Home

This week I’ve been working away from home. It’s so nice to have a flexible job where you can work from anywhere:) I’m not working TOO hard though… It’s a little getaway to Kelowna and Vancouver with both my girls. I can’t believe how fast the time is going!

Such a great night…Workshop 2And sometimes they just had to concentrate:)…Workshop 3They completed these Endless Birthday Wishes cards…Endless-Birthday- WishesAnd then we cracked open a new Watercolor Wishes Kit and they got to see just how fabulous and crazy easy those kits are. This is the last time

Well, this is the last time I will post the weekly deals...this is the final week they will have this promotion. Although I am sad to see them go, I look forward to seeing what’s next!! There is always something new and exciting just around the corner.Weekly Deals Apr 12-18I want to draw your attention to one item in particular that is on here…the Rose Garden Thinlits. I am featuring these thinlits and the coordinating stamp set in my card clubs this month. Some of the members missed out last week because their class didn’t fall within the ordering period…but guess what?! It’s back on this week! A bit surprised, but oh so happy!!

So I thought I’d post a few of the projects they will be making.Rose-Wonder-1This first design came from my friend Donna and features a couple of techniques: paper piecing and the pleated skirt technique.

Paper Piecing:  I die-cut the rose twice…first in gold foil and second in basic black. I glued the gold rose down first and then filled it in with the black pieces. A little tedious…but stunning. Looks harder than it is.

Pleated Skirt:  I started with a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that measures 7-3/4″ x 3″.  Cut it at an angle and score on long side at 3″, 3-1/2″, 5″, and 6-1/8″. (There is a great tutorial by Becky Roberts on splitcoaststampers.com. )

Rose-Wonder-2I think this one is my favorite. It is a wedding card made by my friend Sherry. We are heading into the popular wedding season, so I can see myself making a few of these. I’ll show you a few different pictures of this so you can see how it fits together.Rose-Wonder-3The belly band (2″ x 8-1/2″) was punched on both ends using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch. I wrapped it around the card and tied it together with the beautiful Pool Party Glitter Ribbon. It just slides off.Rose-Wonder-4A very small portion of the black rose outlines are glued behind the white quarter sheet of cardstock (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″). They fold back to reveal the vellum piece with greeting behind.Rose-Wonder-5How beautiful is that?!

The final one I want to share with you is this one.Rose-Wonder-6The rose and leaves were embossed in white (rose onto Blushing Bride cardstock and the leaves onto Old Olive cardstock). Then I sponged blushing bride ink over top of the rose and pear pizzazz onto the leaves. It really made this image pop! I then hand-cut the image out and finished the card.

When I made this card, I had no idea I’d be needing it this week. A dear friend’s husband passed away and the funeral is tomorrow. He lost his very short and intense battle with cancer. We will celebrate his life… and he will be missed.

Just a reminder, that this is the last time for the weekly deals. I encourage you to check them out and then when you’re ready to place an order, click HERE.

On Monday, the Retiring List comes out! Eeek!

Have a great weekend everyone,
