This design was made by one of my uber talented team members, Lorna Raczynski. She followed an original template by Becky Roberts and just switched out the colors and accessories to create this elegant birthday card. Isn’t it beautiful? And I’m so happy the sahara sand lace trim is also back in stock! I love this monochromatic clean look with sahara sand and silver foil paper.

Stay tuned…I will let you know as soon as you can order this bundle!! :)

How Happy Are you?

I woke up rather abruptly today when my husband turned on the lights AND the TV and announced “they’re on!”. What?! What are you doing? A few moments of squinted eyes, and I was able to focus and see that CityTV was at Scona High School covering their 24 hour bike-a-thon. Cool. We scanned the crowd of students to see if we could see Aaron. A quick text to find his whereabouts led to the discovery that he was in the back throwing up. Ugh! He is on the leadership team that spear-headed this event and was suffering from the flu and sheer exhaustion. So we drove to pick him up.

In the vehicle, the radio announcers were talking about today being International Day of Happiness. There was a blanket of snow covering the ground which made for icy road conditions. Not exactly a great way to start this day of happiness…AND the first day of Spring I might add! Sheesh!

When we got home and had the patient in bed,  I looked on the internet to see what I could find about this International Day of Happiness. Headings like: Your Happiness is Part of Something Bigger… and… I Want to Create More Happiness in the World Around Me… caught my eye.

“After years of happiness research, one thing has proved fundamental – the importance of our connections with other people.”

Hmm… Reading on, I found out that the United Nations launched an International Day of Happiness on June 28, 2012. The priority was placed on giving “happiness, a ‘fundamental human goal’, a greater priority.”

“We all want to be happy and we want the people we love to be happy”, says Professor Layard.

So what do I take away from this? We all need each other for sure.  We are surrounded by millions of people, but how is it that there are so many lonely people out there?

I’m in the creative business where there is so much potential to connect with people and the things that make them happy. I love seeing ladies come to my classes and just sit…relax…and find their “me time”. Crafting is good for the soul. And connecting with other people that have similar interests, gives us energy.

In card club last night, we made HAPPY cards…and listened to HAPPY music… and had a great time! :) What is your happy meter gauge showing? You can join us at card club anytime. There’s always room for one more!

Crazy About You

I love it when Stampin’ Up! puts together bundles for us. If we buy the 2 items at the same time, we  save 15%…and I don’t know about you, but I’m all for saving whenever I can. This particular set is paired up with the Hello You Thinlits Dies…which I LOVE!

You may look at that price (photopolymer bundle is $52.50) and think “Sheesh! That’s a little pricey.” But let me point out the value of this set of 33 stamps. First off, there are 3 images and 30 words. Funny story…when we were on the long road trip home from Idaho, we played a little game. How many different greetings can we come up with using this set? The answer…75!!! And I’m sure there’s more!!

So my card clubs this week are getting to make 4 cards using this bundle.

My downline Sherry created the first one (inspired by a card she saw at Becky’s event). We laughed in class last night, because with all the different sayings in this set, you could make it say anything…including…You Make Me crazy, crazy, crazy! But if someone actually made you that crazy, I’m not sure they would get a card! Just sayin’.

If you own this set, or would like to own it, feel free to email me and I’ll send you a copy of all the combinations we came up with!

Important tip: If you want a black ink when using Photopolymer stamps, I would strongly suggest using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad. It washes off and won’t stain like StazOn ink.
