Pick a Pattern

When it comes to our Designer Series Papers, Pick a Pattern is my new favorite these days. The fact that it is also included in the Buy 3, Get 1 FREE Sale Promotion makes me super happy because now I can keep cutting it up and just buy more!!

Look how much fun I am having with Pick a Pattern…
Pieces-and-Patterns-1

You will notice at first glance that I’ve used the Pick a Pattern DSP a couple of different ways. I’ve used large pieces as background tiles, and then I’ve also fussy-cut all the little images from one of the pages in the pack. I cannot stand how cute these images are!

This one was designed by one of our Artisan Members (Cathy Caines)…Pieces-and-Patterns-2The black/white dotted piece is adhered onto the front of a white card base. The ombre Dapper Denim piece is actually from the Color Theory Pack (also on the sale list!). The greeting “Happy Life” is from the very versatile Tabs for Everything Stamp Set.  It suits this whimsical card to a tee.

I just kept cutting…I couldn’t stop! How adorable is this little woodland scene? (Thank you Donna Wizniuk.)Pieces-and-Patterns-4Another variation…this time using the Woodlands Embossing Folder to add to the forest background. Pieces-and-Patterns-3The greetings on these cards are from the coordinating stamp set called Pieces & Patterns. And guess what? The stamp set is 15% off until October 10th as part of the World Card Making Day Promotion. Does it get any better than that?

One more to share from Cathy Caines…I LOVE this moose!!
Pieces-and-Patterns-5Seriously…don’t you just want this paper right now?!

Painted Harvest

This shelf makes me so happy…it showcases the Painted Harvest Bundle which my clubs worked with this month.
Painted-Harvest-3You really cannot comprehend how beautiful these stamps are until you start stamping with them. The textures on the overlapping images are stunning. Try them in multiple color combinations…which ones do you like the best?

This framed image is cased right from the Holiday Catalogue.
Painted-Harvest-5A little tip when you stamp the leaves in a circular pattern…punch out a circle first and lightly trace it onto your piece of Whisper White Cardstock. Stamp the leaves on top of that pencil line. This makes it much easier to get it looking like a wreath. :) I stamped the first layer in Lemon Lime Twist and then the second layer in Garden Green. It is embellished with the Touches of Nature Elements and the 1/4″ Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon.  The Painted Harvest Bundle includes the Leaf Punch which makes it super quick to create layers of leaves on your project. What a beautiful accent to any display this October.

Check out this card from the oh so talented Kathy Lovell using the spotlighting technique:
Painted-Harvest-4 The pop of color on the black and gray images is quite effective. This set is so versatile.

Time to celebrate fall

The weather is definitely changing. It’s time to celebrate fall. As much as I love all the new Christmas product in the Holiday Catalogue, I am totally in love with the Painted Harvest stamp set and coordinating leaf punch. The pictures are beautiful, but the magic happens when you actually stamp the sunflowers in person. The shading effects on each layer make it super easy to look like a professional watercolor-er. Is that even a word?

Here is the yellow version of the sunflower as seen in the Holiday Catalogue.
Painted-Harvest-1And here is a blue version.
Painted-Harvest-2I must say, I think the blue one is my favorite. It is one of the cards my club members get to make this month. The navy gingham ribbon is a beautiful addition to the card and is super soft and easy to tie. (The ribbon also comes in Smoky Slate.)
